The cars drive by and the wind is crazy,
The train hoots,
Its sound, invading.
Bystanders talk,
Music plays,
My parents argue,
And I'm in a daze,
These sounds I'm indifferent to.
Out of the norm, one noise rings out to me,
Against this cringing cacophony of the city.
A voice, smooth and velvety,
A voice, cool and dreamy,
A voice, that makes my heart flutter,
A noise, that aims smiles at me.
The noise came with a scent,
The scent came with warmth,
The warmth came with a pulse,
And the pulse came with a beating heart.
The train hoots,
Its sound, invading.
Bystanders talk,
Music plays,
My parents argue,
And I'm in a daze,
These sounds I'm indifferent to.
Out of the norm, one noise rings out to me,
Against this cringing cacophony of the city.
A voice, smooth and velvety,
A voice, cool and dreamy,
A voice, that makes my heart flutter,
A noise, that aims smiles at me.
The noise came with a scent,
The scent came with warmth,
The warmth came with a pulse,
And the pulse came with a beating heart.
