Nothing: Darkness

The truth is, for most people the dark isn't a problem. The real problem lurks in the darkness itself.

The fact that a simple thing like the darkness can instill such fear in people is truly astounding.
For some the dark is a nice place, where they can stay and worry about nothing, instead just stewing in their own thoughts. For them the darkness is nothing more than that. Darkness.

They see it as what it is, and because of that they know that there is nothing behind that dark corner. But for those that do fear the darkness, around that corner is a hideous beast that
waits for them to round the corner and ensure their death. The darkness is nothing, and that nothing is scary. The uncertainty of what actually lives in that pitch black is something that should reside in everyone’s mind.
The darkness is ominous, looming above all, and even when warded away with a light everyone knows that it will come back. The dakness is inevitable.
When the darkness comes and the sun starts to set you can feel your skin crawl and heart rate rise. The dark grins and evil grin, a twig snaps, a leaf crumbles and the dark seems to close around.
It grips tightly around you. Running from the dark is an option, but where to? Everywhere around is more darkness. It's ominous and it never stops. In the back of your mind you know it will be back
again tomorrow night.

The Darkenss is inevitable

But simply remember that the darkness is just that… Darkness.

Or is it?
