An Ode To Our Nation's Protectors
By Garrett
Soldiers running
Bombshells booming
Yelling commands
Soldiers.
Protecting.
Our rights.
It's just a matter of time
A teardrop of patience
And a shard of glass.
I hear General whistles
Field guns and tanks
Dusty warehouses
Dirty clothes.
Poverty.
And hunger.
This shows
Our world.
Our people
Our friends. Our family
People we love
We protect their rights
Soldiers
Risking
THERE
Lives
It's only a matter of time
Until THEY return home
THEY are patient
THEY risk their lives to save our nation,
Our rights
Our lives
They Are brave
Patient
Kind
They respect us
More than we respect them,
Give them credit
Only an Ode
A shard of kindness
Dogs
Men
Women
OUR world
We may not see it
Think
Of it
Only an ode
Delivers this message
I Ode to our nation's protectors
Fall on the dirt
Unbelievable
Something soft
In
Such.
A
Hard.
Unforgiving time.
The struggle for them
It IS real
The violence
THE PAIN
Millions of people died
But millions of people lived
Wounded
But alive
The soldiers
Saved many
THEY are our nation
THEY are our protectors.
And yet it never ends.
I sit here oding to the nation and our protectors.
