Protection

Protection is a blanket

Like a blanket that protects you from the monsters

But remove the blanket

And the protection disappears

It is defense like armor

But all good armor has its chinks

It fails

We strive to protect everything of importance

We are the mother cats of our knowledge

It is not possible to protect everything that matters to us

That is not to say that we will not try anyway

We persevere like birds learning to fly

The things that matter to us

the physical things

thoughts

ideas 

or even emotions

change as often as the tides

As we grow and mature, our perception of the world changes

The slideshow of our lives continue

We learn new things and conform to the world around us

Childhood friends do not stay with us forever 

Ideas clash like swords and shields

But to our childhood self, these friends are as important to us as the air we breathe

We might believe when we are little that we will never leave the nests our parents have tended to 

Our entire lives 

As we grow up, we learn to take on life as it is

Challenge ourselves

It is ok to be independent

Without

Independence

Self motivation

Confidence 

You are better off staying as a child for the rest of your life
