A Quaint Little House

A quaint little house, surrounded by gardens
With a swing that creaks with age
Out in the back, the koi float through the water
As though pulled from a delicate page

Up the steps and through the house
The shoes in a line, so neatly placed
And in the quiet air, listen close for memories
For in this house they frolic, with them the air is laced

Inside the house encompassed in flowers
The air greets you with a hug
(Just be sure that when you enter
You don’t track mud upon the rug)

  • Restless Energy

    I have this restless energy
That leaves me in total disarray
I’m not sure what to do with her
    What exactly could I say?

I’m not sure how I know she’s here
But it’s a feeling that builds up inside
  • Of the Chronic Sort

    Look, I understand
    you’re just trying to relate
    Pain makes you uncomfortable
    It’s a very human trait

    I am not in favor
Of the pain my body makes
And I will not be offended
If there’s not a part of you that aches
