Reality Vs A Dream

Happiness is addicting.
A drug everyone wants.
It’s not as depressing as it seems.
Trust me.

They won’t listen.

To not be quite satisfied but yet
Once they itch that scratch,
Don’t want it to end.
That’s them.

Wanting to stay always in that dream.
Always laughing and liberating.
But sometimes even in a split second
that pain, anger, loneliness slips by
And hits fast, a fist to the gut.
I guess happiness is addicting.
Your need to always have more
Always feel that rush
Always feel the floating high up,
above the small towns.
Soaring threw clouds.
Hitting tops of tall trees
and small mountain peaks,
but it followed and for eternity attacks.
Throwing you down back to reality.

The piercing air unwelcoming to tough bones, refreshing and soft in breathes.

The only noise in the quiet wood
    birds humming a song.
    One leg after the other.
Gazing at dead skies and the vast space,

    Standing still,
Frozen from finger tip to finger,
    Trapped in place,
    Fear clinging to my skin,
    Fear crawling up my spine,
    Fear wrapped around my neck,
    Do not move,
A single twitch setting off the alarms,

  • Motherly love

All I remember about my beginning was dark, all around me pitch deep black.

Nothing  but flecks of color when I close my eyes to rest.

Until the day I looked toward her light,
