Remember
Even though the world is in a giant knot
Tightening and restricting
Coiling and controlling
We still have flowers
We still have beaches
We still smile and laugh
We still have dogs and cats
Puppies and kittens
We still have grandmas and grandpas
We still have colors
We still have chocolate chip cookies
And buttercream frosting
We still have potato chips
We still have trees
We still have soccer and basketball and hockey and baseball and softball
And football (I suppose)
We can still enjoy our lives
We can still fight to have lives
We can still advocate
We can still learn
We can still love
We are still together
He can try to take that away
But really, this is the America
we are fighting for
And we will not let him destroy our happiness
Because at stake are all of the things
The chocolate chip cookies
The grandparents
The flowers
And they are all worth fighting for.
