rot

it’s been this way for quite some time
greedy ink blobs devouring paper
until no cream-colored space can be seen

indigo is greedy and brutal
it will not halt upon negligence
instead constantly unfurling outwards

a truly frightening scene to behold
beginning so fresh and untainted
consumed by night before it realizes so

you desperately scour until your eyes ache
a single patch of untouched innocence
but you have asked for too much

appearing like dark eerie cavities
the page resembles a moldy fruit
i wasn’t aware that i was rotting.

it has been a long time coming
i should have known.

  • oblivion

    plump raindrops
    fall around me
    like tadpoles.
    the ground is sodden
    but steady
    and i can sink
    into greys like
    a dull metal pot
    cooking soup
    on the stove.
    tired eyes pulled open
    sobered up
    by the weeping sky.
  • Taiwan

    noodles drip peanut sauce
    between two wooden chopsticks
    i am pinching my fingers
    outside, men drive motorcycles
    trailed by stinking gray smoke
    through bustling fruit markets
    beneath tropical foliage
    golden sun shining
  • i live alone

“will you move in with me?”

i felt so elated when the winds
    blew from the east and
    tickled me with endless possibilities
of what lay beyond the horizon
that i couldn’t help but say yes
