Winter nights leave me delirious
The moments we step through right before the fall of snow
A certain forgetting
Like autumn approaching
Pushing
Pulling
The hot weather from the surface down under
Until next season when the flip-flopping heat
Lies on the burners of a hot stove
Aching for a new anything
Compare sunlight to heaters,
Stuck indoors
Awaiting until we bloom again
Until we put away our parkas and surf the prominent skyline
From shadow to shadow
Forming buds from leaf
Coming up from ground
Out of soil, beginning again
As people we will sprout
With purpose
Again.
