Insurgent: A rebel or revolutionary.
I know his claims are false.
I know he is grasping at straws that nobody else can find, that nobody else will ever find.
I know he is not a leader, not a promise of a great country; does that fuel my anger?
And then there's them.
They believe he will save them.
They believe he will lead them.
They storm the gates to keep him hiding behind tweets and marble pillars.
They praise him for what others say is idiocy.
I know his words are empty; they don't mean a thing.
I know he will not be there for us; he hasn't been before, why should he be now?
I know that he is the cause of these deaths; 4 people, only 4, but they are more than numbers.
And yet, how can we ignore them?
They were the rioters.
They held the guns, pulled the triggers.
They were arrested.
And then there are the police.
A third party, impartial, partial.
Tear-gass weilding peacekeepers.
Gun-bearing protectors.
Take-a-knee, give-a-knee pacifists.
Paint-your-skin, scrape-it-of-the-sidewalk peacemongers.
And then there are the senators, the vice president, the president-elect, the vp-elect, the citizens, the protesters, the rioters - the list goes on and on.
Who can be held accountable for the crimes woven into poetry and rhymes and news reports?
They were the rioters, but who is the real cause? Everything about this was calculated; the chaos planned.
Insurrection: the violent uprising against a government.
