She told me the song on the radio had made her cry
She calls it stupid how a few chords
could trigger such feelings.
I see her as a bluejay,
Graceful, breathtaking.
If only she saw herself as I do.
I see contempt in her face
As she stares at herself.
Brown hair swaying slowly.
She sees herself as a seagull.
If only she saw herself as I do.
I press on the pedal of the car,
Wind blowing, loud songs,
As she sings the bridge,
She says she sounds horrible.
If only she saw herself as I do.
Autumn leaves fall to the ground
The oranges and golds of her favorite sunsets mimic the trees
She takes photos of the sky religiously,
And calls them bad.
If only she saw herself as I do.
From her
Head
Shoulders
Knees
And toes
She is awesome.
If only she saw herself as I do.
