Tomorrow I Hope

Tomorrow I hope.

Tomorrow I hope for a sunrise,

I hope to see brilliant peaches and oranges illuminate the sky.

I hope the ground is dusted in crisp, white, snow,

and the birds sing a soft, melodious tune.

Tomorrow I hope for a new day,

I hope for a clean slate free of today’s struggles.

I hope to be happy and surrounded by love,

and to laugh so hard my stomach hurts.

Tomorrow I hope for us,

I hope for you to remember us,

I hope for you to value and cherish us,

And to know that you belong to an “us”

Tomorrow I hope for myself,

I hope to know who I am,

I hope for you to remember me,

And for you to love me still.

Tomorrow I hope for you,

I hope that you will find peace,

I hope that you will find the freedom you're longing for,

And for you to love yourself.

Because that’s all I’ve ever hoped for.

my brother steps around broken glass, sneakers soft on the wood.
the pastor’s words are soft, sugarcoated.
i long to feel the golden rays of summer once more.
suffocating, is the leather string around my neck.
  • Lavender

I let the lavender plant die.

    It wilted,
    then it dried
    and it withered,
    then it died.

I got sick of my clothes smelling like
    your perfume,
wine red satin sheets that remind
    me of your shampoo.
  • silent.

glossy blue bubbles, golden rays shine through the window.
i reach my fingers out, your soccer hoodie is pulled
up past my knuckles, resting over chipped orange nail polish.
wine red satin sheets, my phone is on my nightstand.
