Destined To Be Cut
It’s that time of year again
My leaves have fallen off
And I’m ready for the new leaves
To arrive in spring
Without my leaves
I’ve heard It all before
The mean jokes
About my naked branches
Comparing me to other trees
I await the day I bloom again
To show them the true beauty of my leaves
But that day never came
I was cut down with my brothers and sisters
Used for their boats, and homes
We give them oxygen
But they polluted it
All they cared about was the profits
And the growth of their own
Posted in response to the challenge Trees.
