I learned
To count to two
In elementary school
Thought I'd count shooting stars
Fireflies
Little things
Counting to two
Seemed so simple
Now I count people who left
Count gravestones
And the number of flowers I place
Is a number that keeps climbing
They didn't teach me to count sorrows
In elementary school
Well yes, I am still young
You can call me a kid, but I will never again be
The toddler I was, smiling at joyous things
That I no longer enjoy now that I'm older,
And I like older kid things.
Hell yeah I told you
Why didn't you believe me?
I knew that it would end like this
But you said 'wait just trust me'
I want to say I told you
But Im starting to believe
That maybe you were right
I'm not sorry
Not sorry at all
I don't have regrets
You know what they say
Beter to love and lose than not love at all
but i kind of disagree
because to love is to gamble
