For what I am

I am grateful for the rising sun,
For every day that’s just begun.
The golden light that warms my face,
And time that moves at its steady pace.

I am grateful for the gentle rain,
For cleansing drops and easing pain.
For flowers blooming in the spring,
And all the joy that seasons bring.

I am grateful for the love I’ve known,
In hearts that have called my own.
For family, friends, and voices near,
For their laughter, strength, and care sincere.

I am grateful for the lessons learned,
From roads I've walked and corners turned.
For every stumble, fall, and fight,
That shaped my path and gave me sight.

I am grateful for the quiet nights,
The stars that pierce the endless heights.
For dreams that whisper, hope that stays,
Guiding me through shadowed days.

What am I grateful for, you ask?
It’s life itself—this fleeting task.
A gift, a journey, a fleeting song,
Each moment precious, each step strong.

  • Where I’m From

    I am from coffee beans,

from bitter brews and cracked porcelain mugs.

I am from the steamed soy eggs,

the scent that clings to mornings

    like an old, Chinese dwelling.

  • Wintery days

    Lights aglow on Christmas morn,
Laughter and joy in moments reborn.
Love fills the air as stories are shared,
A day of warmth, with hearts unprepared.

  • To Emily

In Amherst's shade, where whispers grow,
You stitched the seams of all we know,
A bee's soft hum, a slant of light,
Became the fabric of your night.
