When I first saw the news that Charlie Kirk had been shot I was scrolling through YouTube so I paid it no heed. Then I heard people in the hallways talking about what had happened. My science teacher telling us about the violence of school shootings and talking about flying our flag at half mast on Wednesday and I knew that it wasn't fake news, this was real. Someone had shot Kirk dead in cold blood. Now I was not a fan of Kirk and what he was doing but in no way did I want him to die in such a horrible way. Is this really what we have come to? Political violence? It's not helping that everyone is blaming the other party, both on the Left and the Right. Pointing fingers at the other side not wanting the blame to fall on their shoulders. What we should really be doing is finding who did it and punishing them accordingly. Never should we ever turn to political violence to show our standpoint on a certain topic. We should do so in a peaceful manner where no one has to be hurt and in many ways it is far far more impactful than shooting someone.
This is what we've come to?

The hidden fight
Everyday I fight a hidden fight.
you wouldn't know it.
I hide it,
At school,
In class
at any moment I could breakdown in a fit of tears
of pain
anger
because I have hearing loss.

Moonrise
The sun sets.
A stunning watercolor effect paints the sky beautiful warm colors.
A last hurrah before disappearing over the horizon.
Then,
there is moonrise.

Speechless
I am speechless.
All the bullshitting and lies
from our government.
OUR government.
They say that they are protecting us.
That's not what I see,
"Don't believe your eyes."
