Why, little mouse?

Why, little mouse

Do you look up

Up at the sky

Why do you act as if the stars

Might make everything better

Why, brown bear

Do you curl and cuddle close

To the empty space in the den

Like your mother is still there

Why, sweet koala

Do you hang in the trees

Waiting for comfort

To be held

While eating the leaves

Why, lonely puppy

Do you sit by the door

Wagging your tail

Scratching and begging

Like your owner will come back

And let you inside

Why, black cat

Do you wait in the bush

Wait for the people

Who pass on by

Wait for them to pet and love on you

Like your owner once did

Why, little mouse

Do you still try

Why, brown bear

Do you never cry

Why, sweet koala

Do you wait and eat

Why, lonely puppy

Do you still sit and stay

Why, black cat

Are you so quiet and shy

Why, little mouse

Do you still try

    Changing Seasons

The air, cold at night, warm during day
All of the kids, out to play
The leaves are falling, painting the streets

    Its Not All Men

    “It's not all men”
    They say

    And no maybe it's not

    But if there's a shark

    Deep in the water

Do you dive in and wait
