It's funny.
It’s really funny.
This is not something that should be in control of the federal government.
And
It’s not.
Not even close.
The school districts in Vermont are purely following a STATE LAW.
Is that too hard to understand?
I know that I don’t play a sport
I know I’m not seen as someone who’s trans.
Not from the outside at least.
Not only are students terrified to be themselves, but we feel like we have to suppress ourselves.
If only we didn’t have to live in this country.
It feels horrible to say.
I’ve lived here all my life and I’ve felt safe.
For the first time in a long time I’ve felt unsafe in my own country.
In my home.
It feels that the only safe corners of my world are being invaded.
All because of a law.
A law that SHOULD, in fact, prohibit the discrimination of ALL sexes.
If this is really the problem, why not see transgender girls and women as girls and women?
If only they were joking when they blamed us.
