Ivy and Emmy,
Wild, not tame
Olie and Dan,
Gruesome yet vane
Slowly but lowly,
They Snuck through the greens
They bound up the trees
To lick all the leaves.
But thorns on their tounges
made them wish they were done
That’s when they thought of the plan
Yes after millions of years,
They were treated unfair
The thorns how they hurt!
How unfair.
But now They had their chance!
They huddled together
Ivy and Emmy,
Olie and Dan.
Told the others their Great, Great, plan.
So in the morning,
When they went out to “work”
They licked all the leaves.
As they were told they should,
But their mothers and fathers
Never specified what color.
So that day the fairies of Wildwood nook,
Took their plan into action as they all knew they would,
They licked the leaves such beautiful colors!
Oh yes, They were bright, bright colors.
But not Red nor orange,
Not even yellow.
But Surely purple and pink,
And neon yellow.
The fairy’s that day they took their vengeance
The people around
Said, “What a beautiful fall!”
But when they looked at the leaves,
Oh, they were wrong!
Though it might be an option.
All of them agreed,
That was not that the fall they all wanted to see.
But on one of the leaves,
It was clear they could see,
The fairies of the wildwood nook,
Had done it again,
This is what the note said as they read:
“We are the fairies of the wildwood tree,
Treated unfairly that you might see,
We have bounded away,
Gone with the Night.
We will not return,
So do not even try.
Though it might seem harsh,
You must understand.
You used us and played us,
And we won’t give in!
Free at last
Might we never come back.
Fairies of the Wildwood nook
Free at last.”
