My Buddy, My Dog

My Buddy, My Dog

On a hill lays a dog.  A droopy, lazy dog.  His head settles in his paws, his glistening, sorrowful eyes move not one bit.  No collar, no friends or family with him, all alone.  Just a droopy, slobbery, lazy dog.  And, gosh, was he thin!  Thinner than a dog bone.  I call out, “Here boy,” and he moves an inch.  He can’t get up.  Maybe he has no home?  I feel sorry for this dog.  So, I gently carry him home where my mom and I live.  We put up Lost Dog posters, but no one calls.  I’m glad, though, because I love that dog.  I feed and hydrate him, pickup his yucky dog poop.  My reward; a friend with a slobbery tongue that licks my face.  My dog, my buddy, and all that matters to me.
