If Light

If light was the future,
It would always be turned on. 
Sometimes it would have to be replaced,
but it would always be on. 
If light was the future it would start bright,
always.
Sometimes it would flicker,
and sometimes you'd choose an already used one,
but it would always start brightly.
If light was the future,
some would have a brighter one.
Some would have a candle,
a torch,
a fire,
a flame.
If light was the future,
then the future would always be bright.
