yearning heart

she glanced across the room
trying to catch a look at him without being noticed

a glimpse of his walnut coloured hair came into her view
followed by his bright smile

everytime she sees that smile
it makes her day

her heart hurts with yearning for his touch
to stand close to him hurts more 
than it does to watch silently
from across the room

he doesn’t seem to notice her
he doesn’t seem to notice her longing gaze 
as she stares blankly across the room noticing only him 


she longs to be held in his arms 


her eyes follow his every movement
as she daydreams about his shining smile
her mind wanders to where her heart wants to be

where her heart is pulling her to
but she is too scared to move

her dreamy glance towards the one she wants
everyone else can see it
except for the one she wants

the one person she wants to notice her
looks right past her
