Rubber Soul

Dear Self

   Dear Self,
Who are you? Just wondering. I mean, you should know who you are, right? Right?
I once read somewhere that, no-matter what, yourself is the one person who will always be there for you. But I don't know exactly who you -or, I, is. Is that wrong?
Also, why don't you like talking to anyone but a few choice people? Or even making eye-contact, for goodness' sake! I guess that what I'm trying to say is, "why are you so weird and nervous? What are you afraid of?"
Okay, I think that I know the answer to that last one. You're afraid of not being accepted. Therefore, you're afraid of me. I'm afraid of you. I hope that this doesn't last.
I love you most of the time,
   -Us.

This is a very strong concept! I would like to read more about specific times or events or reasonings that you have for feeling this way. It could possibly give this a more emotional kick to it and really connect with people. Really nicely done!
