Out of the Cave

Out of the Cave
Chapter 1

As I walk out of our cave, I see the blue sky. I’ve never been out of the cave before. I was not allowed to, Dad said it was way too dangerous but I still decided that tonight I would sneak out.
When I got out, the outside word was so cool “What is the blue thing floating in the sky?” I whispered to myself. Then I realized, the floating blue thing IS the sky.
It was early in the morning so Dad and Mom we're still sleeping. I've been planning on this getaway for a week, so I  took notes on when they woke up, how long they slept, and when they fell asleep. If my calculations were right, I will have exactly three hours to explore the outside world before I need to be back in my cave, so they don't see I was missing.
Living in dinosaur ages isn’t exactly the easiest thing. I'm not allowed to be outside and every night my dad would have to stay up three more hours to make sure we are not hurt.
I walked farther and farther away from the cave.  I try to find my way back, but it's too late. I walked too far and I can't find my way back. As day turns to night and night turns to day I think to myself, Why didn’t I listen?
I try to find my way back and I try to find food. Then finally I come across a batch of  T-Rex eggs. “Finally food!” I yell out, and I walked closer to the nest. There’s a lot of them! I think in my head. I walked closer and closer, and when I get about 2 feet away from the nests full of eggs,  a big shadow comes over the ground and onto me. “Uh Oh,” I whisper to myself.
