Vermont Rain

Windshield wipers slide across transparent slabs
Like blades on ice, smoothly rushing back and forth, sometimes catching on little pieces of
Oops.
Green and gray hover between each other, resting in the space that lies in front of squealing tires and behind sharp grassy blurred fields
Of tall grass (and cow’s ears) trying to shake off the droplets of wet.
And dark eyelashes slide down, cool air rushing around and over and through
While Vermont lays it’s head down on the sky and
Weeps.
