Riptide by Vance Joy

Amara slid her flip-flops on and walked out to the deck. Walking her dog as usual on the beach was Char, the most beautiful girl in Amara's life. Her dog Archie looked towards Amara who was heading down the sand scattered old wooden steps from her house. Char let go of the leash and Amara smiled. The small dog trotted towards her and licked her toes. "Oh Archie." Char says.
"No, it's fine." Amara says. Char smiles back at her and sits in the sand.
"Such a nice morning..." She says looking towards the sun.
Amara started singing quietly "Oh lady running down to the riptide..."
Char looked over, "Is that, Riptide?"
Amara blushes and looks down "Yeah." Char picks up Archie, "It's my favorite." Amara says.
       "Is it?"
"Yeah." Amara says slightly blushing and embarrassed realizing this is the longest they have ever been together. "It reminds me of my dad for some reason. That's not... weird, is it?" she asks.
"No." Char says. "Sort of like how you remind me of my mo-"
       "What?" Amara asks.
"..." Char looks down just as Amara had before. "Nothing."
Amara looks at the light crashing waves. "Taken away to the darkside, I wanna be your left hand man. I love you when your singing that song and I got a lump in my throat 'cause you're gonna sing the words wrong..."
To Amara's surprise Char joins in, "Oh lady running down to the riptide taken away to the darkside I wanna be your left hand man. I love you when your singing that song and I got a lump in my throat 'cause you're gonna sing the words wrong..." They giggle and smile at each other.

From outside the tank, through crimson red glass framed by dark metals, you could see a face. It was a fair face, one of charm and prominence. The body looks gelatinous, as if the weeks of incubation and chemicals had smoothed it down.
