The Menace Hope

There is nothing scarier than the fear of losing someone you love….

We can all relate.
Sometimes we are lucky
Our loved one may pull though
Making all the tears for nothing
Thank Goodness we say
Shedding more tears
This time of joy
Making us appreciate the people we love
Even more than before
Helping us to believe in the power of Hope.

Other Times we are not as lucky
Sometimes we hope, pray, beg
Clinging to even a little thread of hope
Anything that may hold us upright
And it changes nothing
There is still an empty chair
Where you used to look
Deep into someone’s eyes
Someone who loved you
And you loved them
But that chair is now empty
Causing so much pain
That you want to give up
Shut down
Hit something
Anything that will ease
The indescribable pain of a heartache
As if someone turned on the waterworks
Warm tears come again
More persistent than ever
Streaming down your face
Lingering on your chin
For a second longer
Until they drop
Just like you spirit

Recalling memories of a loved one gone
Is almost impossible
Pain engulfs you
You curse hope
How dare it trick you
Make you believe that everything would be okay
When obviously
It wouldn’t
How dare hope
Lie
Help you up
Only to drop you later
That mean
Selfish
*****
Never will you ever make the mistake
Of trusting hope again

Hope is powerful
It either lifts you up
Or tears you down
No inbetween

  • Awaiting An Invitation

    Tree limbs dance in
    the breeze of baited breath,
roots threaten to break ground zero.
    time;
    too much
    too little
    only the trees understand
    me

    glass stregthens
    mirrors melt
    clouds converge and darkness reigns

    Sentenced

    I am guilty

    The bars which restrain me
    are but my own fault

    I am guilty

    The lifeless walls
    frozen, unfeeling
yield no give as I fight to break free

    My crimes:
    To want,
    the stars

    Only A Memory

    The wind
brushes my cheek, with a kiss.
    Neck craned, my eyes
    skim the sky in bliss

    The scene before me,
    a canvas to interpret,
I stare, deep within the soul of each star
this game I refuse to forfeit.
