That's what I thought to myself, as I watched him grab his things to leave for the final time. Words shivered at the back of my throat, constricting me, while I waited with bated breath for them to come out. They never did. They were suffocated before they could even reach the tip of my tongue. I said nothing as he pushed past me without so much as a glance. I said nothing as he opened the front door. I said nothing as he got in his car. Only once he had pulled out of the driveway and disappeared down the street did a single sound escape my lips. A scream. The type of scream that hurts. The type of scream so loud and persistent eventually your ears just tune it out.
This is your last chance Last chance to beat your hands on the walls and call this place your home. Last chance to walk down these halls, and know where your feet are taking you, Last chace to stand on that stage, And promise you won't cry? Last chance to see the faces you love and not have to say goodbye.
Because time is running out, And you don't have to go home, but you can't stay here, But where else do you know, and what else can you do? So beat your fists until they bleed, And keep your head high and teeth barred, And don't let your voice waver as you speak into that mic, Because too soon you'll be on a different sort of stage, headed to a different sort of place,
And you don't want to have wasted your last chance.
“This is your last chance” this as in now, standing here in a ruined dress weeping your as in my last chance, me as in myself, worn slippers, dirty hair and all disheveled last meaning no more after this, only now, standing in a room full of people who wish me dead intimidated chance, like luck, saying maybe I won’t die from the beast I must face fear This is my last chance
this is your last chance to give me my crown this is my warning i swear on the crown' i vow to it
i see the truth i know you i know your type i burned and crash, and no one felt it. feel my quake, i tell you now look at the crumbled stone of me that you destroyed you thought i wouldn't survive but i am the ashes that the phoenix rises out of i am rebuilt with the burning ashes that once was my city
fear me i will conquer i will be the one to take your crown
This is our last chance. Our last chance to do the right thing and save the planet. Co2 and other greenhouse gas emissions have risen to a dangerous level. But there is one more chance one more chance to take action and keep the situation from spiraling out of control. Humanity has done something that any high school student will tell you is dangerous, and that is to procrastinate, and this has led us dangerously close to our own destruction. Many of our leaders have been gambling with the future of the land, earth, water and air that we rely on everyday to provide the nourishment necessary for survival. The world needs action and action now if we are to ever to effectively combat this issue. The people need to demand action from our governments and lay a new foundation for our energy infrastructure. We are currently hanging by a fraying rope over an abyss. If we fall then nothing can save us but we have been given one last chance.
