Three Thoughts of Three Trees

There goes Mr. Wilson birdwatching right on time, 9:34 AM. Magnolia waves their branches at him, but of course he doesn’t wave back. That’s how humans are, after all. I wish I didn’t have so many squirrels running about. It’s getting really annoying, Magnolia thinks, though I guess it’s better than those troubling kids who climb poor Oak’s branches.

My time is up, Maple Tree thinks, an axe deep in their wood, and starting to drip sap. Why do these humans need all of this space. It’s our planet too, Maple Tree grumbles to themself, though I guess I shouldn’t complain, I’ve had ten long years of life… Little did Maple Tree know, that ten years was very short for a young tree such as themself.

How I wish… strong Pine whines. I’ve been stuck holding this swing in this STUPID backyard for 18 years! The children are not children anymore and nobody is even using this swing. Oh, how I wish I could live in the wild, where squirrels and birds and trees live in peace. Though some would wish for Pine’s life, as Pine was on private property and the family loved having Pine in their small backyard and would never tear Pine down.

  • Willow's Well

Willow's Well is a well that is said to grant wishes-at least, that's what the locals say. You can only make one wish though, and it's likely it'll never come true, for the Well is said to only ever grant a worthy wish.

  • Words

Words drift by me, leading up to the great night sky. I watch them, all spiraling from an open book. The book has a sort of magic coming from it, an essence. I walk toward the book and hold out my hand above it. In my palm appears a word.
