A broken system
The clock, the enemy of the mind,
Time stretches into long ribbons,
Each responsible for the waiting game.
Eyes glaze over, fragile ice on a sleeping pond,
Foot shakes from restlessness, -
Fall
Sweet, juicy apples
Little, red wooden wagon
Sneaky hitchhiker
A crisp cool sweet breeze
Heart-pounding, breathless delight
Footfalls in the leaves
Colorful carpet
Heaping piles of fresh leaves -
Where I'm from
I am from late-night stargazing,
telescope on the porch.
From the smell of sweet hay in my friend's hayloft.
From frostbitten toes, and bright red noses.
I am from cold days spent on a snowboard, -
Afraid to Fall
Lifes a journey, A winding road
Full of forks, twists, and turns.
When I get lost, You’re always here,
To point which way to go.
You’re my shoulder to cry on
The person I rely on
The one who can always make me smile. -
Crystal lake
Majestic mountains tower over crystal clear water,
Sky-scraping evergreens, border the rocky shore,
Their reflections blurred in the water.
My paddle slices through the lake, Silently, leaving only bubbles in my wake. -
nauset beach at dusk
Dark, cold water crashes against the shore
Shallow footprints erased by the waves
Outlying stars reflected on midnight water.
A gentle breeze loops in and out of the tall grass,
Playing hide and seek with the wind.
