One of my favorite pastimes is people-watching on the porch.  

I will have my tea or lemonade in hand,  

Book resting on my propped-up knees.  

Julia from down the street will wave and ask how I'm doing. 

No one would know this now 

From the way I suck up words 

Books done in one sleepless night 

It seems I've been reading my whole life 

But in third grade 

Here’s a toast 

to the girls who have had their hearts broken

By guys that never knew their names

I'm a brown-eyed girl 

loves adventures 

yet afraid of the unknown

I'm a romantic who hates real life

I'm a brown-eyed girl

who wishes more love songs

said brown-eyed instead of blue
