how the rivalry of storied pasts

is still to this day unknown to me

The ladies sit on park benches
In little groups of three
All lined up in platform clogs

Muster up a Charleston

The ladies who sit in rows of three

I’m like a sewn together tapestry
of ripped apart cloth
a mosaic of broken glass
from past shattered plates
