Looking at you two

as you "dance" on the "dance floor"

which is really just an empty spot on the ground

as you hold hands awkwardly

though enjoying it

as you experience feelings that I've never experienced before.

I’ve always wondered

What it’s like to be myself

Openly and honest

And not hiding behind bookshelves

Waiting for someone to see

And let me into their heart.

A guy is knocking

My neighbor is doing Duolingo across the street,

He’s in his sixties learning a new language

And I’m just eating leftovers, watching him,

Wondering if he’s practicing French for his husband.
 

Fireflies and sun

Thunderstorms that shake the house

Summer has returned

 Truth is a view and  truth is a lie 

That’s always stood as time passes me by 

As time passes I’ve come to wonder 

Can truth be a blunder 

A blunder to one rarely to all
