poetry has reached a standstill
words don't fill our throats
only tiktok dance moves incorporate our day to day life
and scrunchies and
high pitched laughs about when someone says a sentence
which is perfectly normal

O Beast of the tangled wild
O friend in help and hope
You've conquered the shyest child
Teaching them how to learn and cope

Your life has been a patient quest
Of wonderful watching bliss,
I've turned to you in times of test

Why is the world so difficult to navigate?
I need a compass
I don't know which way is North and which way is West
Everyting is spinning and I can't get my feet on the ground long enough
To notice what is going on around me

Once upon a time 
There was a girl 
Who laughed and jumped
And skipped
And licked lollipops
She was as happy as any girl could be
But sometimes the sun fell
The smile dropped off of the girl's face

In summer, they sit under the big oak tree and write their laws. They think and eat plums and watch as the sun retreats bit by bit down into the sea every evening.

Modesty
Is the girl dressed in a small corduroy frock
It is half overall and half dress
And her hair is tied simply in a low ponytail
With a yellow ribbon

Smart
Is the girl with the thoughtful look in her eyes
