A Randomly Romantic Poem
Her
With her long plait of dark hair,
A soft touch of the end brushing her lower back.
Her jeans were soft,
And loose fitting.
Her shirt shimmered in the summer sun.
Him
With his tentative smile
And shy face. -
This is Us
We came together
Some of us knew each other,
Others new,
Drifting together,
Not sure if we fit.
Weeks of tentative laughter,
Of trying to clobber this thing together,
And still,
I wasn't sure if I belonged.
Today, -
Uninspired
I've been uninspired
Lately
Writing about things around me
For lack of things to do
I want to try again.
Sometimes
Inspiration comes unexpectedly
I'm not able to pin down
My ideas
Wish I could -
Milk Chocolate
Palaces sparkles in her dark eyes
Eyes the color of milk chocolate,
Skin the color of smooth, rich coffee
Her feet beat a path
A path of hope. -
This Is Fall
There is a stiff breeze.
I sit inside and learn about conjunctions.
A floorboard creaks.
I am hungry.
Two strikes on the TV.
A fuzzy blanket.
My eyes are tired.

A Nerd
I told them that I was on YWP
And they called me a nerd.
My cheeks burned
Not with embarrassment
But with anger.
