Hearts erode like narrow mountain passes
Both leave the hollow whispers of wind in their wake
While grit and water and air may break down rock

Too young and innocent to be a woman, too smart and angry to be a girl
My shirts are too low cut to be taken seriously and my hems are too long to be noticed, so I shout -

I will nto delete this one even if it continues to be as horrible as it is now -
My little sister thinks I'm beautiful
As I handed my sister lululemon leggings today
And watched her wriggle into the waistband, she did not
See me wipe away tears with thick and dark denim -

I want to see your cheeseboard
Let me prick your finger
I always wanted to be an elevator girl
My mother makes good chopped salads
I once knew a girl who wore fleece-lined chainmail
