Sijo Poetry

Inspired by YWP writer Isi Gibson's Eternal Serenity, try your hand at sijo poetry. This Korean verse form can tell a complete story in just three lines of 14-16 syllables each: the first line introduces the idea or story, the second involves a turn, and the third gives closure. Sijo often involves romantic, spiritual or metaphysical themes. Find out more at poetryfoundation.org. [Photo credit: "More Pink Tipped Clouds" by Coco, YWP]
