anyone else get sad after writing a really good poem or a really good line? like, you know you'll never be able to use it or think of it anew again and it's awful

I do! Sometimes(okay, kinda often) I have ideas that I let settle for a while because I want them to be perfect when I finally unleash them onto a page. When I do though, I tend(as I always do) to find myself writing away from my original idea. And then I feel sad, because I'm like... is this really the poem I want to spend this idea on? Can't people just forget about this one if I write a better one, and have them not realize it's the same concept?
yess "spending the idea" is such a real concept like you have this amazing idea but you could write it seventeen different ways and the idea is so perfect it can only be used once :( poetic liberties are crazy sometimes lol
All the time and then it feels like I wasn't actually the one to write it which makes me feel even worse
yes - poets being just an empty vessel occasionally filled with meaning and then drained again is a concept i think about literally all the time
Yea sometimes I feel like there's like a jester spirit that possess me for shits and giggles and then vanishes when I'm done writing/j
