Growing up in California, I've always been surrounded by beaches. So naturally, the beach has always been a favorite place of mine to visit! Here's one of our visits to the beach, watching the sunset turn into dusk captured in a photo!

I was ten when the sky cracked open,
and fire spilled out like molten glass through the sky.
The fair smelled of caramel and dust,
and I was scared of how bright the world could get.
they say I used to be so free,
as if I set that freedom down
somewhere careless
and forgot to pick it back up.

i say sorry to the mirror
for looking away too fast.
for calling her names
that no one deserves.
