Yesterday morning I took a walk some time after the sun came up, not too late for the frost to have melted but early enough for the world to be bejeweled. I was amazed by the sparkle of the world, the sun's rays catching on the most unexpected subjects, like this blackberry plant.
Speak to me soft, little fox.
Don’t go yet.
Don’t whisper goodbye
To the sky
When you haven’t even realized
A green tea bag is baking cold out on my porch
A piece of gray rock from the quarry wanted to be torched
Whipped cream pecks your cheeks with specks and flecks of blue
Your mother called; she said don’t worry about you
They’re everywhere:
Stories of growing up and getting old
And time slipping through a child’s fingers
Like sand at the beaches of your memories.

The level of detail you were able to capture, in the frost and the leaf structures, is amazing! I would never have been able to identify the plant if you hadn't for us (thank you).
