Plants @ Pacific Grove!

In April of this year, I visited Pacific Grove, a small, coastal, city in California! Growing up in California, beaches were always very special to me, running into waves and building sand castles with my sister. Or just chilling on the sand with my parents, reading a book with the waves in the background. But, I think what a lot of people overlook about beaches are the plants that surround them. The ocean and the sand are the main attraction and everyone struggles to notice the plants around the beach, the little things that make the beach complete. So when we visited Pacific Grove and stopped at a seafood restaurant nearby, I decided to capture the flowers around it. If I zoomed out of this picture, you'd see the raging oceans behind the flower bushes! I hope you guys enjoy this photo!

Author's Note: This story isn't exactly mine to tell. One day, I came home from school, crying because I got a huge blister (this happened in elementary school) and the blister spread across my entire palm.

  • Take Me Away

Author Bio: I wrote "Take Me Away," when I felt swamped with a growing list of things to do. It made me miss the days, in the pandemic when I’d run around the backyard, screaming “I’m bored!”

  • I'm Here!

Author's Note: This poem was actually inspired by Emily Dickinson's poem, "I'm Nobody! Who Are You?" I was experimenting with rhyming schemes, and then I read Emily Dickinson's poem.
