Abandoned is worse than alone
it means you had something and it left you
chose to, perhaps
it means you were willingly and knowingly left behind
if you're alone it could be by choice
you're by yourself
it doesn't have to mean lonely
it can just be solitude
a feeling I enjoy
but don't always crave
Abandoned is worse
because you are left by someone or something you relied on
and it is gone
leaving you alone
the words work together to mean
you're on your own now
Am I too much or not enough?
Do I care?
Not really...
this is my year to not care
with the excess pieces of me tying themselves up
covering up
armor before it changes
"it" being everything
I'm a system of equations
and you're my matching set
no answer to the variables
we spend our lives trying to solve
I don't know who I am

but I know who we are
I had a dream
I was at the high school
I couldn't carpool with a buddy
we were late
it was dark outside
I didn't know anyone there
I didn't know my schedule
I didn't know what was happening
