On being brave

There are days when I fall asleep wondering about the line between stupid and brave.

Brave

Is a hero rushing into battle

Ready to fight

For their passion

Stupid

Is a hero rushing into battle

Ready to fight.

Brave is telling someone how you feel

Stupid is imagining they feel the same

Or is that brave too?

Stupid is jumping off a cliff and not knowing where you’ll land but a brave person

Would do the same.

And I’m curling into my comforter at night

Deciding maybe stupid

Is brave

Maybe brave is when things work out

But shouldn’t it be when they don’t

Too?
