Bittersweet

Maybe this is what
they call
bittersweet
so blanketed
in the freedom
of summer
you forget
that the
aftertaste is
sour
Saying goodbye
for the last
time
deleting the tabs
exiting
google classroom
like you have
done
so many times
but this
is different
you know
you will never
again
open the classroom
they snipped the
hair
before
you knew
they did
and you look into
the mirror
seeing
the ring of snippings
around your
feet
bittersweet
hair already dulling
and brittling
to pasta
crumbling away
but
your cut hair
looks nice
so nice you almost
forget about the
abandoned google classroom
pixels drooping
letters sagging
til it is
gone
well you still see
it
bags under arms
one foot
on the train
looking back it smiles
eyes not wanting to
you have to let
it go
since a second train
is coming
so you let go
not really
but you do
and you are
ok with that

It’s midnight and I wonder if my salt lamp is really salt

    Ick yep it is

and I will attempt to convey
    the human
    sitting and picking the words
    from cobweb corners where
    computers can't find them.
there is a beating heart here
