Broken Hearts, Broken Promises

You said you found the key,
I told you it was to my heart.
But you already knew,
Because you already had taken my heart,
Some would say stole.
Right out of my chest,
And temporarily,
You stole my breath.
But, instead of demanding it back,
I just asked you to keep it safe.
You promised.
YOU PROMISED!
And damn you,
Because you freaking broke that promise.
But you gave my heart back,
Only it's got strings attached.
Stings you like to pull in two different directions at once.
Are you trying to break my heart?
Are you trying to manipulate me like you did before,
Make me do things just to make you happy?
Because you're just fine.

I want to build you a castle, even though I can barely use a screw driver.
I want to write you a song, one that would make you think of me on a whole new level,
One you could listen to when we're apart.
  • Promise, Someday

    Someday.
Someday we will hug and kiss like its no big deal,
Wrap our arms around each other and walk down the street.
Someday I’ll have a special name, that only you call me,
    Something that makes me smile,
  • Always something

It's always got to be something.
That one thing that takes the wind out from under your wings making you tremble,
    and fall.
And it's always the something you generally expect,
    But hoped wouldn't happen.
