In a bustling city
I cannot help but think of those
the people who couldn't get a shred of pity
those people before me who could not stand here
safe
living in a world that wants you
not hiding
but instead the world was dividing
chains locked their hands
red lights are all they got
chains enslaved their feet
while green lights are above me as a stare into the street
that is a road of the free
I think of the people who thought they were free
but weren't
everybody was just a puppet
In a bigger scheme
all they could do was dream
but not me
am I the first one to finally know what it feels like to be free?
People tried to climb the hill of success
but how can you climb,
With the weight of heavy chains?
I cannot help but think of those
the people who couldn't get a shred of pity
those people before me who could not stand here
safe
living in a world that wants you
not hiding
but instead the world was dividing
chains locked their hands
red lights are all they got
chains enslaved their feet
while green lights are above me as a stare into the street
that is a road of the free
I think of the people who thought they were free
but weren't
everybody was just a puppet
In a bigger scheme
all they could do was dream
but not me
am I the first one to finally know what it feels like to be free?
People tried to climb the hill of success
but how can you climb,
With the weight of heavy chains?
