Championship game

My breathing picked up the pace, as my lungs pumped air in and out. "Don't give out on me now..." I told my legs. They shook with every step, trembling like a cat in a thunder storm. The pounding of my heart throbbed in my ears. thumping footsteps approached from behind me. I couldn't miss this shot. As I drove down the side of the court, the net was wide open. I could see the win. I could taste it. I could grasp it from right in front of me, and take a chunk out of that sweet victory. Three seconds remained on the daunting red clock that loomed over us. Adrenaline overloaded my system, sweat dripping from my head. "Whats happening?" My head shouts. I let go of the ball, and it bounces for about 30 feet before bumping into the wall behind the net. My legs became jelly, and my mind had fogged. People surrounded me, seemingly growing taller... I felt small. My vision blurred before going black--- my last view of the melted court lines before my body hit the floor. Just like that, it slipped from my fingers. The  win that was going to take us to the championship game had been lost. Those melted lines still remain in my head, haunting me.
