Dear California,
We used to ski your snow-capped mountains,
and swim your crystal- clear lakes.
We used to run your hot and dusty trails,
and climb your massive boulders.
We used to stand below your rainbow waterfalls,
and hike your forests of leperchauns.
We jumped off your cliffs,
and splashed in waves that crashed on the shore.
We used to chase the annoying seagulls at the beach,
and yell at the pestering bears in the mountains
I miss surfing in the dead of winter.
I miss skiing the next day.
I miss solo runs up mountains,
just me and my dog.
I miss your pink sunsets
I miss running in the rain once a year
I miss jumping off of docks in the summer
I miss melted posicles on Saturdays
I miss your giant sequoias
I miss freezing in 60 degrees
I miss roadtrips on the weekends,
and I miss all of it.
I miss you, California. I really miss you.
