Driving in The Rain

Raindrops on my windshield, a nocturnal symmetry,
Headlights carve through the darkness - black bear trinity.
Lost in reverie, like race cars through thunder’s track,
Will I ever go back there? Back?
Is he dead, is he fine?
Muddled dashing yellow lines.
Each mile traveled, a wilderness in my mind,
In this endless road, what solace will I find?
All the cities on the signs
'Til the road and sky align
Johnny says he taught weepin' willow how to cry,
And the  traffic lights remind me of Fourth of July.
Now I dance through Moths of death,
My lungs swell with the oceans breath.
I turn on Susie and she smells of coffee and Summer Sun,
Under the overpass - the click of your garbage gun. Gun?
