My science teacher accused me
playfully and yet fiercely
of stealing an envelope
I had been threatening to peel the cover strip off of the sticky part
so it glues together
because it was just so tempting.
It made me smile.

I say I love this
and I like to think that I'm good at it

I don't think so anymore
I forget to practice for lessons I dread
